Hail and well met!
Calling all athletes and bards, craftspeople and revelers! Compete in the Games of Lugh with feats of skill and speed. Contend with other artisans in displaying works of mind and hand, or sing away the world on this stage for the Gods! Competitions : Musicianship - Participants are asked to prepare a piece of music. Each musician will be given up to 5 minutes to perform. All genres and instruments are welcome. Original music is encouraged but not required. Storytelling - Each storyteller is asked to prepare a story to share with Moot attendees of 10 minutes or less. Original stories are encouraged but not required. Craftsmanship - Artisans are asked to bring an original composition of their own making to be displayed. This is not limited to a single genre of art or craft work. Please be advised that display and protection of artwork from the elements and damage is the participant's responsibility. All three bardic competitions will be judged based upon audience applause. Dart Throw - Competitors will be provided with three lawn darts. The participant will stand in a hoop at one end of the field and aim their darts for a hoop at the far end of the field. Those whose darts most closely hit center will move on to the next of three rounds. The first round will include any who sign-up to participate. The second round will include the top 6 participants and the final round will include only the top three. With each round, the distance between hoops will increase. Relay Race - Teams of three are asked to compete in this race. Our relay consists of three portions. Water is involved in this race so participants must be prepared to get wet. To advance to the next leg of the relay, participants must tag their fellow teammate. All three competitors of the winning team will be awarded prizes. Sign-up will be required of each participant prior to the beginning of each competition. By doing so, each participant understands the risks involved and agrees to hold blameless the Assembly of Capital Region Pagans should an incident occur. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each competition. |
